This browser can't open folders directly, so it shows an
"Upload" window instead. Nothing is uploaded: the files are only read on this computer. But it lists every file in a
folder first, which is slow for the Workshop folder (tens of thousands of files). Chrome or Edge open folders directly
and remember them. In Firefox, run the import as a command instead (in the se-mod-production folder):
node tools\se-grid-builder\import_world.mjs "<world save folder>", then Import JSON the file it
writes and choose Cancel to merge.
Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers\Content: vanilla blocks and block names
optional
%APPDATA%\SpaceEngineers\Mods: mods in the world that aren't from the Workshop
What to import
A regular expression on the block's id and name. Only plain structural blocks (TypeId CubeBlock) that fit in
one cell are imported. Armour with a game shape joins the matching vanilla card. Other blocks are read from their model
and grouped by shape, so blocks with the same shape share one card.
Blocks larger than one cell (most wings) are counted but not imported yet.
Block
Draw
Click two points to draw an edge of the block. Drag to orbit, right-drag to pan, wheel to zoom. The orange
arrow is the block's Forward. Draw every edge of the shape, then Save.
Click a point to start a line.
Block
Saving turns the lines into a solid. If the lines close into a solid (each edge shared by two faces) that
exact shape is used, concave or not. If not, the shape becomes the convex hull of the points and you get a warning.
Session
One file with the model, settings, cell edits and block library, to keep or to send to someone with
this page.
Model
Drop an .obj or .stl here, or
The real length of the thing along its front axis. The model is scaled to it.
group=words in part names, separated by ";". Everything else is "body". Parts are the model's objects.
Scale and grid
A block is considered for a cell only when the model fills at least this share of the block's own
volume (a plate: of the model's thin skin). Among those, the winner is the block whose faces best match the model's
surface in the cell: the surface should lie on the block's faces, and every face the block shows should have model
surface on it. Simpler blocks take near-ties. Thin bits of a neighbour poking through a grid line get no block.
Blueprint
One grid of the block size above, every fitted cell with your edits. Export writes straight into
%APPDATA%\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints\local\<name> (pick that folder once); in game F10, then paste. The in-game
symmetry plane is set on the hull centreline.

Edit a cell
Click a cell on the layer map to select it. Edits are kept in this browser for this model and grid settings.
No cell selected.
Saves every cell you've edited (for this model and grid settings) with what the tool had picked, so
the fitting can be tuned towards your choices. Send Claude the file's location.
Select a cell the tool got wrong, click this, and paste it into the chat with the block you would use.
Layer
The map is the selected layer seen from above: front on the right, columns numbered from the rear, rows from
the -Z side (row 1 at the top). Letters are block keys (click a cell for the full name); a dot is a cell the model touches
where no block passes the fill rule.
